My very first question — is having a child still worth it?

We are in the brink of World War III.

One step away from recession.

Do we really need to think about procreating? Don’t we have enough oxygen consuming, carbon footprint emitting humans everywhere in the world?

I reunited with my childhood best friend after 25 years of being apart. For the first time, I met her husband and sons, a teenager and a school aged boy. Before meeting them, I assumed that these kids will be like any other child of this modern world — all eyes on gadgets, earphones day in and day out, snobbish and won’t talk to adults. To my surprise, they were the exact opposite.

I was graced by their respectful conversing tones. They were both sweet, soft spoken and has public etiquette. No phones all throughout the day, no earphones, no raised voices, nothing.

Wow. There’s still kids out there who knows how to behave. I was even amazed that they told their mother off when she tried to use the phone on the table whilst we ate dinner.

Another friend came to my place recently, with her 8-year-old son.
